Have The Planters or Garden Beds Ready Potting Soil OR Composted Garden Loam
2:Water the Seedlings
A few hours before you do transplant, water the seedlings well. These can be slipped out more easily to avoid root damage and hence reduce transplant shock.
3:Loosen the Soil
Carefully press the back of each cell in your seed-starting bin, to loosen up the dust and roots. You can use a tiny little tool like a butter knife or plant label to slide around the rectangle so you can gently push up against it and give them some coaxing out from either side of the tray.
4:Remove the Seedlings
Hold the seedling at its base and carefully remove it by its leaves or stem. Try not to be too hard so you do not break the plant.
5:Handle with Care
After removing from the tray, do hold the seedling by its leaves but not any other stem. The latter ones use unsupported tubular herbage as stems, which are very fragile and can be broken easily.
6:Transplanting
When the root system is well developed transplant it into te new container or garden bed at once. Plant it in the container at the same depth when they were growing. Compact the soil gently around the plant.
7:Water After Transplanting
Water the seedlings upon planting in order to improve root establishment.
8:Provide Adequate Care
Initially, protect the seedlings from strong sun and wind until they become acclimated to their new surroundings. Carry on watering as necessary
With these steps, you can easily transplant your Burpee plastic tray seedlings without any damage.
